Talal Chaudhry Criticizes PTI: “What If Children Join After Aunts and Wives?

Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, issued a strong statement in the National Assembly, targeting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its protest strategies. Addressing the House, he said that even if children join the protests after aunts and wives, it would make no difference.
“Hold 100 protests, we won’t arrest you, but the question is—why don’t you inform the administration beforehand? Why does the media learn about it before the authorities?” he questioned.
Chaudhry made it clear that no group would be allowed to launch an attack on Adiala Jail.
He criticized PTI for allegedly using children for political stunts, stating, “If children wanted to meet their father, couldn’t they have obtained a visa in the last two years? Was it about sympathy or a calculated political gimmick? Are these children coming as Imran Khan’s kids or as Goldsmith’s grandchildren?”
Emphasizing the right to protest, the minister added that it must be within the bounds of the constitution and law. He also pointed out the inconsistent and vague planning of PTI’s protests. “Three days ago, a request arrived at the Deputy Commissioner’s office by post. Sometimes they say they will protest in Islamabad, sometimes in their own cities. In reality, they have no intention of protesting seriously—just to make noise on specific days.”
Chaudhry reaffirmed the government’s stance that legal and constitutional boundaries will be enforced and that any unlawful activity would not be tolerated.
