Misbah-ul-Haq Resigns as Pakistan Selector Amid Major Shake-Up After England Tour

Pakistan cricket has witnessed a major shake-up following the national team’s extremely poor performance in England, with national selector Misbah-ul-Haq resigning from his position.

According to sources, Misbah’s resignation has been followed by the start of his notice period. His decision reportedly came after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a notice to the national selectors seeking an explanation for the selection of Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan in the Test squad.

The PCB has asked the selectors to explain within 24 hours the criteria used to select both players and provide details of their performances.

The development comes after Pakistan suffered defeats in two consecutive Test matches during the England tour, triggering major concerns within the team and management.

During the tour, the PCB released seven players from the Pakistan Test squad, including Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Aamer Jamal, Ali Usman, Owais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad.

The PCB has also released head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul as part of the ongoing changes in the national team setup.
