Rs290 Million Deducted From Salaries of 11,000 Health Department Employees Over Absenteeism

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has deducted a total of Rs290 million from the salaries of 11,000 employees of the Health Department over absenteeism and negligence in the performance of their official duties.

According to the provincial government, more than 100 employees have also been dismissed from service as part of an ongoing accountability drive launched on the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

Officials said disciplinary proceedings against another 402 employees have also been completed. Further measures are being taken to improve attendance and ensure that government employees properly perform their assigned responsibilities.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said providing timely and quality services to the public was a fundamental responsibility of government employees.

“Negligence or absenteeism in public service will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” the chief minister said.

The Balochistan government said the accountability process would continue without discrimination to improve discipline in government institutions and ensure the effective provision of healthcare services to the public.

Authorities said the measures were aimed at strengthening the attendance system and improving the overall efficiency of the provincial Health Department.
