Gastroenteritis Outbreak in Zain Loti, Nine Members of Same Family Affected; Medical Team to Be Deployed

DERA BUGTI: An outbreak of gastroenteritis in the Zain Loti area of Dera Bugti caused sudden illness in nine members of the same family, who were suffering from severe diarrhea and vomiting.

The affected individuals were immediately shifted to Welfare Hospital Sui, where doctors provided them emergency medical treatment. According to hospital sources, due to timely treatment and proper care, all patients are now reported to be out of danger and in stable condition.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dera Bugti, Dr. Azeem Jan Bugti, stated that due to intense heat and the possible use of contaminated water, there is a risk of further gastroenteritis cases in the area. He added that the Health Department is continuously monitoring the situation.

He further informed that to control the situation, a special medical team comprising doctors and paramedical staff will be dispatched to Zain Koh tonight. The team will stay in the area for two weeks and provide round-the-clock medical services to the local population.

The medical team will also provide free treatment for gastroenteritis and other seasonal diseases, along with awareness regarding preventive health measures.

The Health Department has urged citizens to use only clean and boiled water and strictly follow hygiene practices to prevent the further spread of the disease.
