“A Khan Who Does Not Support Imran Khan Is Impossible,” Says Younis Khan
KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain and renowned batsman Younis Khan has publicly expressed his support for former captain and prime minister Imran Khan, saying he has always stood by the legendary cricketer.
In a video circulating on social media, Younis Khan was seen speaking at an event where he said, “If someone is a Khan and does not support Khan, that is simply impossible. I have always supported Imran Khan.”
Younis recalled that several months ago, when circumstances surrounding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Imran Khan were particularly difficult and concerns emerged regarding the former prime minister’s eye treatment, he was among the first to raise his voice.
“I don’t appear much in the media, and sometimes I don’t even have access to my own social media account. But when I learned about Imran Khan’s eye condition, I immediately tweeted about it, Alhamdulillah,” he said.

Younis added that he did not want to comment on whether others had done the same, saying that everyone ultimately had to answer for their own actions.
Speaking about Imran Khan’s contribution to cricket and Pakistan, Younis described him as a great personality who had brought international recognition to Pakistan and Muslim sportspeople.
“Great Imran Khan is among those few personalities in the world who have earned tremendous recognition for Pakistan and for Muslim sportspeople globally,” Younis said.
The former captain reiterated that he had always been a supporter of Imran Khan and expressed his hope that the former prime minister would remain in good health.
“I sincerely pray that his health remains excellent and that Allah Almighty makes all the difficulties and trials he is facing easier for him,” Younis said.
