PTI MPA’s Focal Person Allegedly Forces Power Feeders On at Peshawar Grid Station

PESHAWAR:A focal person of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly member Fazal Elahi allegedly stormed the Rehman Baba Grid Station and forcibly switched on several electricity feeders on the MPA’s instructions, according to a Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) spokesperson.

The spokesperson said the focal person forcibly restored power to several feeders, including Yakka Toot, Channa Dakk, Sorezai Bala, Qalandar Baba and Akhunabad.

The Jameel Chowk, Chairman Office and Shalwazan feeders were also switched on, the spokesperson said, adding that the MPA’s focal person allegedly misbehaved with a PESCO employee.

According to PESCO, around **80 percent of the feeders** connected to the Rehman Baba Grid Station are classified as high-loss feeders. Load management is carried out on these feeders because of electricity theft and non-payment of outstanding bills.

The PESCO spokesperson alleged that protesters also intimidated and threatened the company’s staff.

PESCO warned that restoring electricity supply to high-loss feeders could lead to further financial losses for the power utility.
