DG ISPR Warns of National Security Threat, Condemns Attempts to Incite Public Against Army

Islamabad: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), stated that a single individual has become a threat to national security and warned that no one will be allowed to incite the public against the military.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that this person’s ambitions and desires are considered above the state, and his mindset—“if not me, then nothing”—poses a direct threat to Pakistan’s national security. He added that this individual’s political influence has ended, and his narrative is now a danger to the state.

He emphasized that the army does not represent any political party, religion, sect, or elite group, but belongs to the middle class. “If anyone attacks the army or its leadership for personal or misguided political reasons, it is unacceptable,” he said. He urged all political parties to respect the armed forces and refrain from creating divisions between the military and the public.

DG ISPR stressed that attempts to provoke the Pakistani public against the army will not be tolerated, stating, “This army is the shield of the country, standing between internal unrest, India, and the people.”

During the press conference, he presented a video alleging that social media accounts of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were being managed from Afghanistan and India. He also shared a video of Alima Khan speaking to Indian media, questioning how such statements against Pakistan’s army chief are circulated and by whom. He accused the political party of using its social media platforms to propagate anti-army narratives, highlighting the sources of these posts in the presented video.
