Imran Khan Has Made No Deal, Details of Meetings with Interior Minister Cannot Be Disclosed: Barrister Gohar

ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has said that PTI founder Imran Khan has not made any deal, while refusing to disclose details of his meetings with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, where a contempt of court petition had been filed, Barrister Gohar said there had been a clear violation of the Supreme Court’s order.

He said the PTI had already filed a contempt petition and had attempted to meet the Chief Justice of Pakistan, but the meeting could not take place as the chief justice was busy.

Barrister Gohar said the PTI had met the Supreme Court registrar and requested that the case be fixed for hearing either tomorrow or the day after. He said the party had approached the Supreme Court 15 times and the High Court 25 times, urging the implementation of the Supreme Court’s August 18 order.

He said courts had sat even at night and on Sundays in the past, adding that the registrar had assured them that the case file would be placed before the Chief Justice on the same day.

“The Supreme Court’s order cannot be ignored. The world is watching whether the Supreme Court will ensure implementation of its own order,” he said.

Responding to a question about reports of a deal, Barrister Gohar categorically said that Imran Khan had made no deal. He questioned whether people had not previously gone to Ziauddin Hospital and whether the Supreme Court could not order the transfer of an individual to a hospital.

Regarding the November 26 case, the PTI chairman said several of the party’s workers had been killed and injured during the incident. He said the PTI had wanted the judge to take notice of the matter, adding that no one could have greater interest in the November 26 case than the PTI itself.

Asked whether he had met Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi before the Supreme Court’s order concerning Imran Khan, Barrister Gohar said he had met him from time to time but could not disclose details of those meetings.
