Federal Government’s Receivables from K-Electric Surge 93% in One Year

ISLAMABAD: The federal government’s receivables from K-Electric have surged by 93% over the course of one year, reaching Rs421 billion by June 2026.

According to the latest figures, the total amount owed to the federal government by K-Electric stood at Rs421 billion at the end of June 2026.

The outstanding amount represents an increase of Rs203 billion compared with June 2025, highlighting a significant rise in financial obligations between the power utility and the federal government.

The sharp increase in receivables underscores continued financial pressures within Pakistan’s power sector.
