Sararan Police Station Bombing Raises Questions Over Government Claims and Administrative Performance: JUI

QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Quetta district leadership has strongly condemned the bomb attack on a police station in Sararan in broad daylight, saying the incident has raised serious questions over the government’s claims regarding law and order and its administrative performance.

In a statement, JUI Quetta district Emir Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Abdul Rahman Rafiq, District General Secretary Haji Ainullah Shams, Senior Vice Emir Maulana Khurshid Ahmed, Information Secretary Abdul Ghani Shehzad and Deputy Information Secretary Abdul Samad Haqyar expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in Balochistan.

Maulana Abdul Rahman Rafiq said police stations in Balochistan were being targeted with bombs in broad daylight, despite the government’s claims regarding law and order. He questioned how ordinary citizens could expect protection for their lives and property when even centres of law enforcement were not secure.

The JUI leaders said the security situation in Balochistan had become extremely alarming and criticised what they described as the government’s non-serious approach toward the province’s longstanding problems.

They said instead of finding practical political and public solutions to longstanding issues, the rulers were pushing matters toward a dead end. Such an approach, they added, could not be considered wise governance.

The JUI leadership said the broad-daylight bombing of the Sararan Police Station had contradicted government claims about the law-and-order situation.

They urged the government to move beyond formal statements and temporary measures and adopt a serious and result-oriented strategy to restore peace, protect the lives and property of citizens and find sustainable solutions to Balochistan’s longstanding problems.
