Balochistan Students Should Pursue Education in National Universities and Contribute to Development: CM Sarfraz Bugti
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has urged students from the province to pursue higher education at universities across the country and play a constructive role in the development of Pakistan and Balochistan.
The chief minister met with Balochistan students who had been selected on scholarships for higher education at universities in different provinces. The meeting included detailed discussions on development projects, governance, education and other important issues. The students also asked the chief minister questions on various matters, which he answered in detail.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the merit-based selection of students from different districts of Balochistan for higher education was a guarantee of their bright academic future. He noted that most of the scholarship recipients belonged to poor and middle-class families, making the opportunity to study at leading universities across the country particularly significant.
He said it was encouraging to see young people from Balochistan pursuing education in various fields at leading national universities. He appreciated the Punjab government for supporting Balochistan students with university admissions as well as assistance for tuition and hostel fees.
The chief minister urged the students to make discipline, hard work and merit their guiding principles while studying in universities in other provinces.
He said Balochistan’s youth should promote a positive image of Pakistan through their abilities and constructive contributions wherever they go, describing them as ambassadors of both Balochistan and Pakistan.
Bugti also advised the students to stay away from anti-state organizations and negative propaganda and to fulfill the expectations of their parents through education and hard work.
He said there was often a difference between perceptions and ground realities, adding that anti-state elements attempted to negatively influence young people in the name of uneven development. He urged students to remain vigilant against such influences.
The chief minister said Pakistan was created to endure and would continue to exist. He described those who dream of dividing Pakistan as living in a state of delusion.
He said the youth of Balochistan were the architects of Pakistan’s future and should channel their energies toward education, research, skills development and the progress of the country and province.
Welcoming the interaction with students, Bugti said listening to young people’s questions and views was among the government’s priorities. He said educated and talented youth could play a key role in leading Balochistan toward development, prosperity and stability.
Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan and Secretary Higher Education Saleh Baloch were also present at the meeting.
