“Let’s Recite Surah Al-Fatiha for the Constitution,” Says Akhtar Mengal After Passage of 27th Amendment

Quetta: Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief **Sardar Akhtar Mengal** has strongly criticized the approval of the **27th Constitutional Amendment** in the Senate, calling it *“a tragic chapter in Pakistan’s democratic history.”*

In a post on social media, Mengal lashed out at what he termed “so-called democratic forces,” saying, *“They have turned their entire political struggle to ashes just to end one man’s politics.”*

He further remarked that the existence of the judiciary and the Constitution now feels like *“nothing more than a joke.”* Mengal urged that this *“deception must end immediately”*, warning that history would never forgive those who undermined democracy out of fear of a single individual.

Concluding his statement with biting sarcasm, he wrote, *“Let us all recite Surah Al-Fatiha for Pakistan’s Constitution. May Allah be with you all.”*

His remarks reflect **deep concern and disapproval** over the government’s sweeping constitutional changes under the 27th Amendment.
