Three Killed, Including Sardar Alamgir Khan Kosh, in Rahim Yar Khan Firing

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Sardar Alamgir Khan Kosh and two others were killed when unidentified armed assailants stormed a dera and opened fire in the Ahmedpur Lamma police station limits of Sadiqabad, Rahim Yar Khan, late at night.

According to police, Sardar Alamgir Khan Kosh had arrived as a guest at the residence of Yasin Kosh in Mauza Bohi War. The attackers opened indiscriminate fire, killing Sardar Alamgir Khan Kosh, his guard Mashooq Ali, and Yasin Kosh’s son, Nazim.

The incident took place at around 2am in Basti Sher Bahadur Dinon Shah. The bodies of all three victims were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, while police reached the scene, collected evidence and launched an investigation.

Sardar Alamgir Khan Kosh belonged to Mir Sahib Kosh village in the Gheloopur area of Kashmore. He had played a prominent role in the surrender policy concerning criminals operating in the riverine areas.

Punjab Inspector General Abdul Karim took notice of the triple murder, sought a report from the Bahawalpur Regional Police Officer and directed the Rahim Yar Khan District Police Officer to ensure the immediate arrest of those involved.

The IGP ordered that all available resources be utilised to apprehend the suspects. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, senior police officers and forensic teams are present at the crime scene and evidence has been collected.

The DPO Rahim Yar Khan has formed teams to arrest the suspects. Police officials said raids were being conducted at various locations and expressed hope that the suspects would be arrested soon.

Police are also investigating the possibility that the triple murder was linked to a previous enmity.
