Islamabad High Court Accepts Request for Early Hearing in 190 Million Pound Case of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has granted an early hearing for the requests of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi regarding the suspension of their sentences in the 190 million-pound case.

The hearing was held before Acting Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Sarfraz Dogar, and Justice Inam Amin Minhas, where the court accepted the appeals of Imran Khan, the founding leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his wife Bushra Bibi, along with their requests for an expedited hearing of the sentence suspension.

The court has directed that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s appeals against their sentences be scheduled within two weeks, adding that the applications for the suspension of their sentences will be considered alongside the appeals.

During the proceedings, Advocate Ali Bukhari requested the court to set a date for the suspension of sentences, to which Acting Chief Justice Dogar responded by saying, *“The division bench has already issued a judicial order regarding the scheduling of cases. We cannot directly set a date without following that order. However, we will review the sentence suspension requests alongside the appeals.”*

Imran Khan’s legal team was represented by Advocates Zaheer Abbas and Usman Gull, while Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Advocate Ali Bukhari, appeared on her behalf.

It is noteworthy that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are currently serving sentences—14 years for Imran Khan and 7 years for Bushra Bibi. Both have filed appeals and requests for the suspension of their sentences. The outcome of the hearing will be closely monitored by political and legal observers alike.
