KP Police Operational Capacity Enhanced With Modern Vehicles and Equipment

PESHAWAR:The operational capacity of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has been strengthened with the provision of modern vehicles and equipment to various districts and units across the province.

According to details released by the Central Police Office, modern bulletproof armored personnel carriers (APCs) have been handed over to several district police forces.

Dragon APCs have been provided to the police in Tank, Hangu and Swat, while additional APCs have been supplied to the Upper Dir and Mansehra police.

Modern vehicles have also been provided to the Kohat and Torghar police, while Hiace vans have been allocated to Mardan, Swat, Kohat and Bannu.

The Dera Ismail Khan and Abbottabad police, as well as the Telecommunications unit, have also received Hiace vans.

According to the Central Police Office, 33 vehicle lifters have been distributed among various districts and units, while 25 motorcycles have also been provided to different districts.

KP Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed said the vehicle lifters would help improve traffic management and eliminate illegal parking.

He said the upgrading of 84 APCs of the KP Police was currently underway, with the armored vehicles being equipped with modern technology. Side armoring has also been carried out on police mobile vehicles, he added.

The IG said the modern vehicles would further improve the police force’s operational capabilities. He added that the provision of modern APCs and pickup vehicles was aimed at strengthening the force’s capacity to maintain law and order.

He said the police were being equipped with modern tools and technology to improve security and ensure timely and quality police services for the public.:::
