PML-N Should Recount Nawaz Sharif and Yasmin Rashid’s Votes as a Model: Hassan Murtaza

Speaking on a private television programme, Hassan Murtaza said the PML-N should prove that it had emerged victorious fairly and that all allegations regarding the 2024 elections and the formation of the government should be rejected.

“Let the votes be recounted. If the results are correct, then the PML-N is also in the right. If not, the PML-N should apologise to the nation and step aside,” he said.

Meanwhile, PPP Information Secretary Nadeem Afzal Chan said government ministers themselves had started acknowledging that “everything is not fine” and that the system had failed.

Speaking on the Hum News programme, Chan said ministers including Mohsin Naqvi, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal and Aleem Khan had begun raising concerns within the government regarding the functioning of the system.

He said the government should either acknowledge the situation or issue show-cause notices to the ministers, adding that the government would have to provide an explanation.

Chan further claimed that the PPP had exposed alleged rigging by the government during the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections.
