Pakistan’s Government Hajj Scheme 2027 Expected to Open Next Week with Higher Costs

Islamabad: Applications for Pakistan’s Government Hajj Scheme 2027 are expected to begin next week, with the Ministry of Religious Affairs set to officially announce the Hajj policy and details of the government scheme in the coming days.

According to sources, pilgrims will once again be able to choose between long-duration and short-duration Hajj packages. However, the cost of both packages is expected to be higher than last year.

Under the government scheme, approximately 107,832 Pakistani pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj, while 71,888 pilgrims will be accommodated under the private Hajj scheme, representing 40 percent of the total quota.

Sources said the Hajj expenses are likely to be collected in two installments to reduce the financial burden on applicants. The estimated cost of the long-duration package is around PKR 1.2 million, while the short-duration package is expected to cost approximately PKR 1.3 million.

Pilgrims applying through the government scheme will be able to select a package based on their preferred duration of stay and available facilities.

Sources further said that overseas Pakistanis will also be eligible to apply under the government Hajj scheme and submit their payments accordingly.

Officials stated that only individuals who have already completed the mandatory registration process will be eligible to submit Hajj applications and deposit the required payments according to the announced schedule.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs is expected to announce the official Hajj policy, application dates, designated banks, payment procedures, and other details within the next few days.
