Balochistan Announces Rs500,000 Compensation for Families of Miners Killed in Sorange Coal Mine Tragedy

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information and Political Affairs Shahid Rind has announced that Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has approved financial assistance of Rs500,000 for each bereaved family of the miners who lost their lives in the tragic coal mine accident in Sorange.
In a statement, Shahid Rind said all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure the dignified transportation of the deceased miners’ bodies to their native areas, providing maximum possible support and convenience to the affected families.
He added that teams from the Department of Mines and Minerals, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Rescue 1122, and other relevant agencies are actively engaged in rescue and relief operations at the accident site. All concerned departments are maintaining close coordination and continuously monitoring the situation.
The adviser said the Government of Balochistan shares the grief of the bereaved families and remains committed to extending every possible assistance and facilitation during this difficult time.
Shahid Rind further stated that Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has directed the relevant authorities to ensure that no negligence occurs in relief efforts and that immediate support is provided to the affected families.
