Security Forces Kill 10 Militants, Arrest Two Female Suicide Bombers and Facilitator in Balochistan Operations
QUETTA: Pakistani security forces have killed 10 militants and arrested two female suicide bombers along with a key facilitator during a series of intelligence-based operations in Balochistan aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restoring peace in the province.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted over the past 48 hours in various areas of Surab and Mastung districts following confirmed intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants.
In Surab district, security forces identified militant hideouts and cordoned off the area before launching a targeted operation. Seven militants were killed during an exchange of fire after the forces responded effectively to hostile resistance.
In a separate operation in Mastung district, security personnel killed three more militants, bringing the total number of militants killed in the recent operations to ten.
The ISPR highlighted the arrest of two female suicide bombers allegedly linked to the militant network referred to by the military as “Fitna al-Hindustan.” Security forces also detained a local facilitator believed to be associated with the suspects. Investigations are underway to determine whether they were involved in planning additional acts of sabotage.
A large cache of sophisticated weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was recovered from the hideouts used by the militants and the arrested suspects. According to the military, the recovered material was intended to be used to destabilize law and order in the province and cause large-scale casualties.
The military’s media wing stated that operations against terrorist networks identified as “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Fitna al-Khawarij” are continuing without interruption. It said the objective of these operations is to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and safe havens allegedly supported and financed from external sources.
Reaffirming the state’s commitment to counterterrorism efforts, the ISPR said that under the National Action Plan and the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” approved by the Federal Apex Committee, security forces, intelligence agencies, and other law enforcement institutions will continue their campaign against terrorism with full resolve and professional expertise.
The statement added that sanitization operations will continue across the affected areas until all terrorists and their networks are eliminated and lasting peace is restored in Balochistan and throughout the country.
