Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch’s High-Level Meetings Fuel Speculation Over Political Developments in Balochistan

Quetta/Islamabad: A series of high-level meetings involving National Party President and former Balochistan chief minister Abdul Malik Baloch has sparked renewed speculation about possible political developments in Balochistan, although no official confirmation of any political change has been made.

As part of his recent engagements in Islamabad, Dr. Malik met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, following separate meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

According to an official statement, Dr. Malik led a National Party parliamentary delegation in discussions with Ishaq Dar on Balochistan’s political, economic, and developmental situation, as well as law and order and the challenges facing the province.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the people of Balochistan, promoting sustainable development, and advancing public welfare projects within the framework of Pakistan’s Constitution. He said the federal government would continue supporting the province’s development initiatives.

Dr. Malik said the National Party was prepared to work with all democratic political forces to promote lasting peace, political stability, public welfare, and development in Balochistan. He added that the province’s challenges should be addressed through political dialogue, democratic processes, and restoring public confidence.

The meeting was also attended by Federal Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan and the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Tariq Bajwa.

The succession of meetings with senior political leaders has led to speculation about possible political reconciliation or changes in Balochistan’s government. However, no official announcement has been made confirming any such political developments, and the discussions have been presented as consultations on provincial issues and development.
