Balochistan Minister Rejects Mir Ali Bugti’s Allegations, Defends Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan Provincial Minister Haji Ali Madad Jatak has strongly rejected recent remarks made by Nawab Muhammad Mir Ali Bugti, describing them as baseless, politically motivated, and driven by personal and tribal interests.

In a statement, Jatak said attempts were being made to gain political attention by leveling unfounded allegations against the democratically elected provincial government and Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

The provincial minister criticized Mir Ali Bugti, claiming he had failed to serve his native district of Dera Bugti and had remained disconnected from the people of the area for many years. He alleged that those who had not shared the hardships of their communities had no moral authority to criticize the current government.

Jatak further accused the tribal leader of exploiting local communities for personal political interests, while praising Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti for working to improve education, healthcare, clean drinking water, employment opportunities, and infrastructure in Dera Bugti.

He said the chief minister had risen from an ordinary background through public support and democratic elections, adding that some members of the traditional elite were unwilling to accept the leadership of what he described as “a common Baloch.”

Referring to recent security incidents in Ziarat and Hanna Urak, Jatak said the provincial government had responded promptly and that Operation Shaban was continuing successfully to eliminate militant threats. He praised the security forces for their sacrifices in protecting the lives and property of citizens.

The minister also stated that Balochistan was no longer anyone’s personal domain and that its younger generation was choosing education and development over violence and tribal dominance. He urged Mir Ali Bugti to acknowledge the province’s progress instead of issuing statements from outside the province.

Jatak reiterated that the provincial government remains open to all stakeholders and welcomes those willing to renounce violence and join the national mainstream. However, he said no leniency would be shown toward elements challenging the authority of the state or obstructing the province’s development.

He expressed confidence that the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, would complete its constitutional term and continue working toward peace, stability, and prosperity in Balochistan.
