JUI-F Demands End to “Economic Strangulation” of Traders and Workers

**Quetta:** The spokesperson of **Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Balochistan** has strongly condemned what he described as the ongoing “economic killing” of traders and laborers through daily raids on warehouses, unjustified actions, border closures, and the continuous blockade of employment opportunities.

In a statement, the JUI-F spokesperson said that traders’ warehouses are being raided on a daily basis, while borders remain closed and all avenues of livelihood are being systematically shut down, pushing the province’s traders and working class into severe financial distress. He said such measures are unacceptable under any circumstances.

The spokesperson noted that the public is already suffering due to inflation, unemployment, and economic instability, making it increasingly difficult for people to earn even a basic livelihood. He criticized government policies for worsening public hardships instead of providing relief, questioning where people are supposed to go when trade, borders, and all sources of income are closed.

He emphasized that silence over the repeated actions against traders is no longer possible, warning that the business community is already under immense pressure and being forced to shut down operations—an alarming sign for the province’s fragile economy. He said Balochistan cannot afford such harsh and ill-considered measures.

Expressing deep concern over the situation, the JUI-F spokesperson urged the government to immediately review its policies and recognize the seriousness of the issue. He called on all relevant authorities, particularly those at the ground level, to consider on-ground realities and move toward practical and sustainable solutions so that traders, laborers, and ordinary citizens can breathe a sigh of relief.

The spokesperson warned that if issues related to livelihoods, trade, and economic survival continue to be ignored, the responsibility for the resulting consequences will rest squarely with the rulers. He reaffirmed that **Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam** will continue to raise its voice for the public at every forum and will not accept any policies that harm the people.
