AJK Government Requests 4,000 FC Personnel and Seven Rangers Wings Amid Rising Security Concerns

ISLAMABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has requested additional security forces from the federal government, citing concerns over the prevailing law and order situation in the region.

According to Express News, the AJK Home Department has sent an official letter to Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior requesting the deployment of 4,000 personnel of the Federal Constabulary (FC) along with seven wings of the Pakistan Rangers.

The letter urges the federal government to provide the additional forces on an urgent basis, stating that the reinforcement is necessary to maintain public order and ensure security.

According to the communication, the AJK government cited protest activities by the banned JKJAAC as a factor affecting the law and order situation.

The letter also claimed that four security personnel were martyred and 174 others injured during recent incidents. It further referred to the ongoing sit-in at Rawalakot and protest activities in other districts of Azad Kashmir.

The AJK government also requested that the additional security personnel be equipped with weapons and anti-riot gear to effectively deal with any potential disturbances.

The Home Department emphasized that the immediate deployment of the requested forces was essential in view of the prevailing security situation.
