Families Allege Bodies of Ziarat Victims Were Mutilated with Chemicals, Demand Independent Investigation

Ziarat: Families of those killed in the recent Ziarat incident have alleged that the bodies of several victims were damaged with acid and other chemicals, making them difficult to identify and preventing relatives from seeing their loved ones for the last time.

Speaking to the media, the families said that a total of 21 bodies were transported from Ziarat to Quetta in three vehicles. According to them, 12 bodies have been placed at the site of an ongoing protest sit-in, while the remaining bodies have been sent to their respective hometowns for burial.

The relatives claimed that the condition of several bodies was extremely distressing, causing severe emotional trauma to the bereaved families. They called on the government to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

However, the allegations that acid or other chemicals were used on the bodies have been made by the victims’ families and have not been officially confirmed or denied by the relevant authorities.
