PTI Balochistan Declares Province-Wide Day of Mourning After Mastung Judge Attack

QUETTA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Balochistan has strongly condemned the killing of District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and the attack on Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari in Mastung, announcing a province-wide Day of Mourning on Friday, July 24.

In a statement, PTI Balochistan Provincial General Secretary Mir Jahangir Rind described the killing of Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and the attempted attack on Judge Tariq Lashari as an assault on the Constitution, the rule of law, justice, and the judiciary. He said the incident reflected the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan and what he described as the weakening writ of the state.

The party announced that black flags would be hoisted at PTI offices across the province, while party workers would wear black armbands to observe mourning. PTI leaders and workers will also offer condolences and prayers with the family of the slain judge.

PTI Balochistan urged the provincial government and the relevant authorities to immediately arrest those responsible for the attack and ensure they receive strict punishment under the law.

The party also called for comprehensive security measures for members of the judiciary and the legal community, saying that if the state is unable to protect judges, it raises serious concerns about the safety of ordinary citizens.

The statement concluded with prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the deceased, the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack, and patience and strength for the bereaved families.
