Kulsoom Niaz Opposes Anti-Terrorism Amendment Bill, Calls It a Violation of Human Rights

Quetta: National Party’s Provincial Women Secretary and Member of the Balochistan Assembly, Kulsoom Niaz Baloch, strongly opposed the Anti-Terrorism Amendment Bill during the assembly session, labeling it a violation of fundamental human rights. When she attempted to express her views on the bill, the Speaker denied her the opportunity to speak, prompting her to walk out of the assembly in protest.
Notably, Kulsoom Niaz was the only member from the National Party present at the session, and no other opposition member joined her in the walkout. Speaking to the media after the session, she voiced serious reservations about the bill, warning that it could become a tool for suppressing civil liberties and may lead to an increase in enforced disappearances and human rights violations in Balochistan.
She stated that such laws do not establish peace but instead create unrest and distrust among the public.
