PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows to Continue Fight Against Terrorism, Alleges Cross-Border Support from Afghanistan

Quetta: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has vowed that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism will continue until militant groups are completely eliminated, alleging that terrorists are launching attacks from Afghan territory with external support.
Addressing the Provincial Apex Committee meeting in Quetta, the prime minister said that several major terrorist incidents had occurred over the past four days. He added that security forces had carried out successful operations in Balochistan, killing 54 militants during the period.
Shehbaz Sharif said police personnel, members of the Pakistan Army, and civilians had lost their lives in the attacks, adding that the country’s political and military leadership remained fully united in the fight against terrorism.
The prime minister alleged that militant groups were using Afghan soil to carry out attacks against Pakistan. He further claimed that Pakistan’s eastern neighbor was providing terrorists with weapons and financial support, and said that foreign elements were also involved in terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Paying tribute to the armed forces, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan’s officers and soldiers had made unparalleled sacrifices and that the entire nation stood firmly behind them. He pledged that all available resources would be utilized to eliminate terrorism and defeat what he referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”
The prime minister also said Pakistan’s recent diplomatic achievements had unsettled its adversaries and expressed confidence that the sacrifices of the country’s martyrs would pave the way for lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, senior law enforcement officials, Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema and Attaullah Tarar, as well as the Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah.
The session concluded with prayers for those who lost their lives in the line of duty and for patience and strength for their bereaved families.
