US Warns Iran Against Closing Strait of Hormuz, Vows Continued Military Action

Washington:US Vice President **JD Vance** warned that Iran would face a military response if it attempts to close the **Strait of Hormuz**, amid escalating tensions in the region.

Speaking at a news briefing in Washington, Vance said US military operations would continue until Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz and stops firing on commercial vessels.

He stated that the core understanding was that if Iran attacked ships, the United States would respond with overwhelming force. Vance urged Tehran to honor its commitments, warning that otherwise it would face consequences similar to the US strikes carried out the previous night.

The remarks come as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to rise following recent military exchanges and concerns over the security of one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.
