Balochistan Chief Minister Holds Talks With Ziarat Cross Protesters, Sit-In Ends

Quetta: Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited the protest site at Ziarat Cross and held direct talks with demonstrators, listening to their concerns and announcing immediate measures to address their demands.

During the visit, the chief minister announced the formation of a committee to review the protesters’ demands and prepare practical recommendations. He also invited a delegation representing the protesters to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat for detailed negotiations and assured them that all legitimate demands would be addressed in accordance with the law, merit, and justice.

Addressing the protesters, Bugti said Balochistan was facing threats on two fronts, alleging that hostile elements were targeting innocent civilians while also attempting to disrupt people’s livelihoods and blaming state institutions for the resulting situation.

He stressed the need for unity and solidarity among the people to defeat attempts to destabilize the province, adding that the provincial government remained committed to resolving public grievances through dialogue, mutual trust, and constitutional and legal mechanisms.

The chief minister also urged citizens to support efforts aimed at maintaining peace, promoting harmony, and safeguarding the national interest.

Following the assurances and progress made during the talks, the protesters announced the end of the sit-in at Ziarat Cross and reopened the highway to all traffic, restoring normal movement in the area.
