PTI Leader Mian Mahmoodur Rashid Challenges 9 May Conviction in Lahore High Court

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader **Mian Mahmoodur Rashid** has challenged his conviction in a May 9 violence case by filing an appeal in the **Lahore High Court**.

The appeal, submitted through his counsel **Sikandar Zulqarnain**, argues that the trial court’s decision in the case related to the burning of police vehicles in the **Mughalpura** area was contrary to the facts.

In his petition, Mahmoodur Rashid maintained that there is no evidence on record linking him to the alleged offence and requested the court to set aside his 10-year prison sentence.

On **June 20**, a trial court sentenced the PTI leader to 10 years in prison in connection with the case, and he is currently serving the sentence at **Kot Lakhpat Jail**.
