Journalists Disrupt DIG Operations Faisal Kamran Press Conference Over Media Relations

LAHORE: A press conference held by Faisal Kamran on the high-profile case involving foreign women in Lahore was disrupted after a group of senior crime reporters and journalists protested during the question-and-answer session.

According to reports, tensions escalated when a senior crime reporter confronted the DIG, accusing him of threatening journalists and interfering with their employment. The reporter also said the journalists would neither accept tea nor hospitality offered at the event.

Several journalists further alleged that Kamran had approached the owners of media organizations in an attempt to have reporters removed from their jobs. They also accused him of making disparaging remarks about journalists and questioned why the police had sought media cooperation during a high-profile case after what they described as poor treatment of the press.

Following the exchange, the atmosphere at the press conference became tense, with some journalists chanting slogans, including “Shame, Shame,” against the police administration. The protest disrupted the proceedings, prompting the DIG to conclude the question-and-answer session after thanking members of the media for attending.

The allegations made by the journalists against Faisal Kamran were voiced during the press conference and had not been independently verified at the time of reporting. No immediate response to the specific allegations was reported from the police official.
