Punjab Revenue Authority Achieves Record Tax Collection of Over Rs367 Billion

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has achieved a record tax collection of more than Rs367 billion during the fiscal year 2025–26, marking the highest annual revenue collection since the authority’s establishment.
According to the PRA spokesperson, the authority collected Rs270 billion in the previous fiscal year (2024–25). The latest figures represent an increase of Rs97 billion, reflecting an impressive 36 percent year-on-year growth.
PRA Chairman Muazzam Iqbal Sapra said that more than Rs48 billion in taxes was collected in June alone, helping the authority conclude the fiscal year with outstanding performance.
He described the achievement as the highest tax collection in the history of the Punjab Revenue Authority, adding that the institution maintained strong performance despite challenges such as regional tensions and reduced business operating hours.
Sapra credited the success to the continued support of the Punjab Chief Minister, the authority’s dedicated efforts, and the confidence of taxpayers, which enabled the organization to meet its revenue targets.
He further revealed that the Punjab government has assigned the PRA a tax collection target of Rs528 billion for the 2026–27 fiscal year. The authority also plans to further expand the provincial tax net, encourage greater tax compliance, and accelerate its digital reform initiatives.
