Trump Expects Full Ceasefire Across Middle East Fronts, Rejects Iran Payment Claims

WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the United States remains committed to peace and expects a complete ceasefire across all fronts involving Lebanon, Hezbollah, and Israel.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump urged all parties in the Middle East to remain committed to ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at advancing negotiations and maintaining regional stability.

Trump said global markets were responding positively to falling oil prices and rising stock values, describing the trend as a success for the United States. He added that lower oil prices and recent developments reflected a positive outcome for Washington.

The U.S. president also dismissed reports claiming that the United States was paying Iran $300 billion, calling the story “fake news” and accusing Democrats of spreading propaganda.

Reiterating Washington’s commitment to peace, Trump said he expected a full ceasefire involving Lebanon, Hezbollah, Israel, and other regional actors.

Earlier, while speaking to journalists in Paris, Trump remarked that it was “somewhat unfair” for Iran to be denied ballistic missiles if other countries possessed them. He said that if nations such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar have missile capabilities, a proportionate level of missile possession by Iran could be considered acceptable.

Trump also stated that the United States would maintain its military presence in the Gulf region for some time, even after the conclusion of the nearly four-month-long conflict with Iran.
