JD Vance Says Two-Stage Verification Process Planned for Iran Agreement

Islamabad: U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has said that a two-stage verification process will be implemented as part of the proposed agreement with Iran, expressing optimism that the Strait of Hormuz will remain toll-free for international shipping in the long term.

In an interview with U.S. media, Vance stated that negotiators are still working on numerous details of the agreement and that discussions remain ongoing.

“We will see which areas Tehran is willing to make concessions on,” he said, adding that several important aspects of the deal are still under negotiation.

Vance also said that broad representation from Iran is expected at the signing ceremony and expressed hope that a draft of the agreement will be released later this week.

The U.S. vice president noted that some circles in Israel appear to view the agreement positively and emphasized that Israel would have a seat at the table during future Middle East negotiations.

“Certainly, there will be a place for Israel at the table in the new round of Middle East talks,” Vance said.

His remarks come amid continued diplomatic efforts aimed at advancing a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran, with both sides reportedly working to finalize key provisions before the release of a formal draft.
