Pakistan Delegation Attends FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY: The FIFA World Cup festivities officially began in Mexico City with a colorful opening ceremony attended by football officials and representatives from around the world, including a delegation from Pakistan.
According to media reports, a two-member Pakistani delegation led by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Syed Mohsen Gilani represented the country at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony and the official dinner.
Mexico’s president said football leaders from across the globe participated in the inaugural event and expressed confidence that the country would host the largest World Cup in history in a memorable and exemplary manner.
The president pledged to utilize all available resources and efforts to ensure the tournament becomes a historic success.
Meanwhile, FIFA President Gianni Infantino thanked the President of Mexico for the impressive opening ceremony and the extraordinary commitment shown in organizing the event. He also expressed appreciation to the World Cup co-hosts, United States and Canada, for their arrangements and cooperation.
On the sidelines of the event, the Pakistani delegation held meetings with officials from several football associations. PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani discussed matters of mutual interest and opportunities for cooperation with members of the global football community.
The meetings were aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with international football stakeholders and exploring avenues for the development of the sport in the country.
