Iran Allegedly Shoots Down U.S. Military Helicopter in Strait of Hormuz, Claims Trump

Lahore (Qudrat Daily) – U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iranian forces shot down a U.S. military Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz, warning that American forces will respond with “strong retaliatory action.”

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that U.S. forces had informed him that Iranian troops targeted a modern AH-64 Apache helicopter while it was on patrol, causing it to crash into the sea.

He further stated that both pilots on board were rescued through a “highly advanced recovery operation,” but emphasized that the United States is prepared to deliver a strong response to Iran.

Earlier, a spokesperson for the U.S. military had confirmed that a helicopter had gone down in the waters near the Strait of Hormuz and that both crew members were safely recovered within hours.

Reports also indicated that a modern unmanned naval drone played a key role in the rescue operation, which was described as one of its kind.

The incident comes at a sensitive time, shortly after the United States reportedly helped broker a fragile ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

President Trump and senior officials have repeatedly claimed that Washington and Tehran are close to a potential agreement involving Iran’s nuclear program and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.

So far, Iran has not issued any official response regarding the allegations. Initial reports did not confirm the exact cause of the helicopter crash, and investigations were underway before Trump’s statement attributed responsibility directly to Iran.
