Pashtun Are True Owners of Their Resources, Full Control Must Be Granted: Khushal Khan Kakarr

Khanuzai – Chairman of Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP), Khushal Khan Kakarr, has said that the Pashtun people are the true owners of their natural resources, including minerals, water, land, and other national wealth, but unfortunately they are still deprived of full control over their resources and decision-making.

He expressed these views while addressing a large joining gathering held in the Naganda and Zarghona areas, where hundreds of people announced their joining of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party.

Khushal Khan Kakarr said that the party is continuing its struggle for the political, economic, cultural, and national rights of the Pashtun nation, as well as for public control over resources and the establishment of true democratic governance. He added that this struggle will continue until it reaches its logical and successful conclusion.

He stated that the root causes of poverty, unemployment, insecurity, poor education, inadequate healthcare, and economic instability in Pashtun areas are the lack of control over resources and absence of decision-making power for the local population. He emphasized that without granting ownership and authority over resources, development and prosperity cannot be achieved.

The PkNAP chairman stressed the need for unity, political awareness, national solidarity, and organized struggle among the Pashtuns. He said that efforts will be made to connect all political parties, leaders, intellectuals, youth, and civil society to launch a strong and organized mass movement for the attainment of national rights.

During the event, 400 individuals joined the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party under the leadership of Dr. Jafar Afghan, Syed Ahmed Kakakhel, Muhib ur Rehman, Muhammad Ashraf, Kamran Khushal, Atiqullah, Hayatullah, Dawood Khan, Muhammad Arif, Niaz Muhammad, Mirois Khan, and Haji Shakir Khan.

The new members said they had previously been active in Pashtunkhwa S.O. and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, but left the party in 2016 due to internal crises and deviations from its constitution and manifesto. They added that they are now rejoining PkNAP with pride, as it represents a principled, democratic, and national political movement.

They expressed commitment to continue working for the party’s cause and said they are inspired by its consistent struggle for Pashtun rights, resources, and political authority.

Speakers at the gathering, including central information secretary Muhammad Isa Roshan, provincial president Nasrullah Khan Ziaray, Mahmood Riaz, Dr. Jafar Khan, Qadir Khan, Kamran Khushal, and Syed Ahmed, also addressed the participants.

They said that Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party is the continuation of the political ideology and democratic struggle of late national leader martyr Usman Khan Kakar. The party, they said, continues to struggle for Pashtun rights, democracy, constitutional supremacy, provincial autonomy, and control over resources.

The leaders also reviewed preparations for a large public gathering scheduled for June 21, 2026, at the Qilla Saifullah Football Stadium to mark the fifth death anniversary of martyr Usman Khan Kakar.

They said the event will not only pay tribute to a great national leader but will also serve as a historic reaffirmation of the struggle for Pashtun rights, democratic values, dignity, and political autonomy.

Participants were urged to ensure maximum participation in the rally and intensify organizational activities, including outreach campaigns, corner meetings, and awareness drives, to make the event a success.

A large number of party leaders, including district secretary Mahmood Riaz, Sardar Faisal Khan Tareen, provincial committee member Haji Fazal ur Rehman Alokzai, Dr. Hayat, Azeem Tareen, Hayat Karmal, Kabir Ahmed, Obaidullah Panezai, Samiullah Bazi, district executive members, regional unit officials, political workers, and members of the public attended the gathering.
