Rakesh Roshan Dismisses Reports of Rs500 Crore Budget Demand for ‘Krrish 4’
MUMBAI: Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has dismissed reports claiming that the upcoming superhero film Krrish 4 is facing budget-related issues due to an alleged demand for a Rs500 crore budget by actor Hrithik Roshan.
Recent Indian media reports suggested that Hrithik, who is reportedly set to make his directorial debut with Krrish 4, had requested a budget of Rs500 crore to achieve world-class visual effects and action sequences. The reports further claimed that producer Aditya Chopra wanted to limit the budget to Rs350 crore, leading to differences between the parties.
However, Rakesh Roshan strongly denied the claims, calling them completely baseless. In a recent interview, he clarified that there was no dispute with the production house and rejected suggestions that Hrithik had made any such budget demand.
He emphasized that large-scale films require considerable time and careful planning to meet audience expectations. According to him, creating a film capable of appealing to a wide audience cannot be rushed, adding that previous installments of the Krrish franchise were also developed over an extended period.
Addressing speculation about delays in the project, Rakesh Roshan said there were no disagreements among the team members. He remarked that everyone involved was waiting for the right schedule to move forward with the film.
The veteran filmmaker further stated that the project is progressing smoothly and is the result of collaborative teamwork between Aditya Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, and himself.
Earlier reports had suggested that discussions over the film’s budget had slowed the project’s development and that producers were evaluating different financing options.
The Krrish franchise began with the blockbuster Koi… Mil Gaya, followed by Krrish and Krrish 3. The series revolves around the superhero Krishna Mehra, portrayed by Hrithik Roshan, and remains one of Bollywood’s most successful superhero franchises. Fans continue to eagerly await official updates on the fourth installment.
