Trump Abruptly Ends NBC Interview After Tense Exchange With Host Kristen Welker

U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly ended a lengthy interview with NBC News host Kristen Welker following a tense exchange over election-related claims.

During the interview for NBC’s television program “Meet the Press,” Trump criticized several media organizations and accused major television networks of bias and corruption. The conversation became increasingly heated as the discussion turned to Trump’s allegations of election irregularities in California’s primary elections.

According to reports, the interview lasted approximately 50 minutes before tensions escalated. Welker challenged Trump’s claims regarding election fraud, leading to a sharp back-and-forth between the president and the journalist.

Trump reportedly described the network as one-sided and corrupt, saying he had already devoted enough time to the interview and wanted to end the discussion.

When Welker noted that she had traveled a long distance to conduct the interview in Wisconsin, Trump responded that he had spent more than an hour standing in the rain and had already answered numerous questions.

Reports said Trump then removed his microphone, placed it on the ground, and left the interview location. Before departing, he reportedly placed a hand on Welker’s shoulder and remarked that such journalism would not make America great.

The interview was recorded during Trump’s visit to Wisconsin, where heavy rain and technical difficulties reportedly interrupted the conversation several times.

Following the broadcast, Welker wrote on social media that poor weather conditions had complicated the interview but said the discussion still covered major issues, including the conflict involving Iran, the U.S. economy, and other key topics.

She also stated that she spoke with Trump again the following day and that both agreed the weather had affected the interview. According to Welker, Trump also indicated he would be willing to appear on “Meet the Press” again in the future.

Speaking later at a public event in Wisconsin, Trump acknowledged that he had become somewhat frustrated during the NBC interview. He said the heavy rain and his concerns about media coverage had contributed to his mood but added that the overall meeting had been productive.
