I Would Like Hunza to Become Like Karachi and Serve the Entire Country, Says Murtaza Wahab

Karachi: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has said that he would like Hunza to become like Karachi and contribute to the service and development of the entire country.
Reacting to recent remarks by Khurram Dastgir Khan during an election campaign in Hunza, Wahab said the people of Hunza should evaluate development models based on performance and public service.
He noted that Sindh has demonstrated strong leadership during difficult times, particularly during devastating floods, when provincial authorities remained present among affected communities. He added that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has consistently stood with the people of Sindh during challenging circumstances.
The mayor said the Sindh government is constructing 2.1 million houses for flood-affected families and has already handed over a large number of completed homes to beneficiaries.
Comparing Karachi with other major cities, Wahab described Karachi as a city that welcomes people from all parts of Pakistan. He said the metropolis provides opportunities for working-class families, supports low-income communities, and plays a central role in driving the national economy.
He further stated that voters should prioritize practical achievements over political slogans and promises. According to Wahab, public-friendly policies and welfare-oriented governance should be the basis for political decisions.
The Karachi mayor concluded by saying that, in his view, the Pakistan Peoples Party has historically focused on implementing people-centered policies and development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
