Proposal to Extend Summer Holidays in Punjab Schools Until August 31

Lahore:The summer holidays in Punjab’s schools are about to end, but a final decision on whether schools will reopen on August 15 remains pending.*
According to private TV channel Hum News, the Department of School Education has yet to make a decision regarding the reopening of schools. Sources within the department suggest that there is a proposal to extend the summer holidays until August 31 due to the severe weather conditions.
Punjab’s Minister for Education, Rana Iskander Hayat, stated that consultations regarding the extension of summer holidays in the province are ongoing. He assured that a decision on whether or not to extend the holidays will be made soon.
It is noteworthy that intermittent rainfall continues in Punjab, but in the absence of rain, the region experiences intense heat and high humidity. In light of this situation, the final decision on reopening schools will be based on weather conditions.
