Dialogue, Justice and Constitutional Supremacy Key to Resolving Balochistan Issues, Says Hidayat Ur Rehman Baloch

QUETTA: Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Ameer and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman Baloch, has said that Balochistan is currently facing a grave situation marked by insecurity, uncertainty, fear, and despair, while the younger generation is suffering from severe psychological distress and a sense of insecurity.

He expressed these views while addressing public gatherings in Gwadar and meeting political and social figures, tribal elders, and various delegations.

Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami and the Haq Do Tehreek have consistently advocated a peaceful, constitutional, and political solution to Balochistan’s issues and have presented several practical proposals aimed at promoting peace and reconciliation. However, he regretted that instead of seriously considering these recommendations, policies and practices that increase public anxiety and mistrust continue to prevail.

He stated that the issue of missing persons in Balochistan has become a serious humanitarian, constitutional, and national concern. According to him, the disappearance of young people and the subsequent recovery of their bodies is not only a tragedy for their families but also fuels fear, anger, and hopelessness throughout society, undermining efforts to establish peace and national cohesion.

Questioning the legality of such incidents, he said that if the killing of an individual on the basis of suspicion or allegations is considered unconstitutional and unlawful, then the recovery of bodies of missing persons raises serious questions about adherence to the Constitution, the rule of law, and the principles of justice.

He emphasized that the rule of law requires that every citizen be provided justice in accordance with the Constitution and that no individual should be subjected to illegal or inhumane treatment.

Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman Baloch stressed that Balochistan’s challenges cannot be resolved through force, coercion, or an atmosphere of fear. Instead, he said, the solution lies in dialogue, justice, constitutional supremacy, and restoring public confidence. He urged state institutions, political leaders, and all relevant stakeholders to understand the sentiments of the people of Balochistan and take measures that promote lasting peace, stability, and national unity.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader called for effective and transparent measures to address the issue of missing persons, an end to all extra-legal actions, justice for affected families, and the initiation of a serious national dialogue aimed at ensuring peace and development in Balochistan.

He reaffirmed that Jamaat-e-Islami would continue its struggle for the rights of the people of Balochistan, as well as for peace, justice, and constitutional supremacy, and would continue to raise the public’s voice at every forum.
