Severe Heat Expected in Sindh and Southern Balochistan, Says Weather Department

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast intense heat in districts of Sindh and southern Balochistan today, with temperatures expected to remain significantly above normal levels.

According to the weather department, partly cloudy conditions are likely to develop later in the day over Kashmir, the Pothohar region, and northeastern Balochistan.

Meanwhile, isolated areas of Punjab may experience dust storms accompanied by thunderstorms and rain.

The PMD reported that the highest temperature recorded on the previous day was 49°C in Sibi and Turbat.

Other maximum temperatures recorded included 47°C in Shaheed Benazirabad and Nokkundi, 43°C in Sukkur, 41°C in Hyderabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Dera Ismail Khan, 39°C in Multan, 38°C in Peshawar and Muzaffarabad, 37°C in Karachi, 36°C in Quetta, 35°C in Gilgit, 33°C in Islamabad, and 30°C in Lahore.

Authorities have advised residents in the affected regions to take precautionary measures to avoid heat-related illnesses and stay hydrated during the extreme weather conditions.
