Special Heat Protection Measures Finalized for Wuquf-e-Arafat

Makkah (KNN) — Saudi authorities have completed extensive preparations for Wuquf-e-Arafat, introducing special measures to protect pilgrims from extreme heat and ensure a safer environment during Hajj rituals.
The annual Hajj pilgrimage is underway in Saudi Arabia, and more than 1.6 million pilgrims are expected to gather in the plains of Arafat tomorrow to perform the central ritual of Hajj. The Hajj sermon will also be delivered from Masjid Namirah.
In view of the intense summer temperatures and possible dust storms, the Saudi government has implemented several cooling and safety arrangements in and around Arafat. These include large-scale tree plantation, shaded shelters, and the installation of advanced cooling fans that spray fine water mist to reduce surrounding temperatures.
Special pathways have also been prepared for pilgrims using flexible materials designed to reduce fatigue while walking.
According to the Meteorological Department, weather conditions during Hajj are expected to remain extremely hot. Temperatures in Makkah may rise up to 47 degrees Celsius, while temperatures on the Day of Arafat are forecast to reach around 45 degrees Celsius.
Authorities have advised pilgrims to follow precautionary measures to avoid heat-related illnesses during the pilgrimage.
