
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s energy sector circular debt has reached Rs5.286 trillion, reflecting continued financial pressures across the sector.
According to the latest figures, circular debt in the gas sector stands at Rs3.611 trillion, while the electricity sector accounts for Rs1.675 trillion.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has noted that Pakistan’s energy sector remains under significant financial pressure.
The rising circular debt continues to pose a major challenge to the country’s energy sector, highlighting the need for structural reforms and improved financial management.
