Concerns Raised Over Terrorism, Insecurity and Abductions in Ziarat: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party

QUETTA (Qudrat News) – The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has strongly condemned the recent terrorist incident in the Mangi area of Ziarat district, calling it a continuation of rising insecurity and alleged failure of security institutions in Balochistan.

In a central press release, the party stated that unidentified armed men set fire to five coal-laden trucks and two tractors, while abducting four individuals — Masood Khan, Ashraf Khan, Javed Khan, and Shin Gul Khan — at gunpoint and taking them to an unknown location. The abductees remain missing.

The statement further said that incidents of burning trucks on the Quetta–Harnai Road and Duki–Sanjawi Road, bodies being dumped in the Zarghun Ghar area, killings and kidnappings in Quetta Mangla, and attacks on vehicles of Mari Gas Company are continuously occurring, reflecting a worsening security situation in the province.

According to the party, certain elements are using these incidents as a pretext to occupy tribal lands and expand control through the establishment of checkpoints, while official government statements are merely attempts to hide failure.

It added that some circles are linking the growing insecurity with security institutions, and claimed that a proper inquiry could reveal the real facts behind these incidents.

The party also alleged that despite the presence of fortified checkpoints and security structures, incidents of unrest are increasing, while efforts are allegedly being made to shut down coal and other mineral-based businesses, severely impacting livelihoods.

The statement said that the worsening situation is directly affecting public employment and the provincial economy, warning that failure to change the current approach could lead to serious consequences.

The party demanded the immediate recovery of the abducted individuals, full compensation for truck owners, and effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
