No Legal Justification for Asghar Achakzai’s Arrest Despite Complainant’s Written Statement: Dad Khan Achakzai and Zamrak Achakzai

Government Is Targeting Political Opponents with Revenge by Entangling Them in Fabricated Cases; Demand for Transparent Judicial Proceedings

QUETTA (Daily Quadrat Quetta) — Awami National Party central senior vice president Dad Khan Achakzai and parliamentary leader Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai have expressed concern and condemnation over the arrest of the party’s provincial president Asghar Khan Achakzai, saying that in the case in which Asghar Khan Achakzai has been arrested, the complainant has submitted a written statement on stamp paper to the court that Asghar Khan Achakzai is not involved in the case of his son’s murder. They said that if the complainant himself is taking the written position in court that Asghar Khan Achakzai is not involved in his son’s murder, then on what legal basis has he been arrested? They demanded that the legal justification for the arrest and the facts of the case be clarified so that the reservations found in this matter can be removed.

They said the Awami National Party believes in the supremacy of the Constitution and the law and has always supported adopting the legal and democratic path. The party respects the judiciary and the courts and believes that every citizen should receive justice in accordance with the law.
