Saudi Arabia Launches Modern Train System for Pilgrims, Major Boost for Hajj 1447 Transport

Islamabad (Kudrat News) — Saudi Railway Company has announced full operational readiness and the official launch of the “Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro” project to facilitate pilgrims during Hajj 1447 AH.

According to officials, the initiative aims to provide safe, fast, and reliable transportation services to Hajj pilgrims.

The Saudi Railway Company, in coordination with security and relevant authorities, completed extensive preparations for the project. Several large-scale simulation drills were conducted to ensure smooth operations, particularly in managing crowd control during peak Hajj days.

The metro network connects nine stations located in Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina, while the final station in Mina is directly linked to the fourth floor of the Jamarat Bridge, significantly improving the movement and safety of pilgrims.

Officials stated that the metro system consists of 17 modern trains, each capable of carrying up to 3,000 passengers. The system has a total capacity of more than 72,000 passengers per hour. During the Hajj season, it is expected to transport over 2 million pilgrims through more than 2,000 trips.

Saudi authorities said the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the “Guests of Rahman” program, playing a key role in providing modern, safe, and comfortable transport services for pilgrims.
