Historic Mosque at Mount Uhud Where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Prayed After Recovery

Madinah: A historic mosque located in the field of Uhud continues to hold deep religious significance for Muslims, as it is believed to be the place where Muhammad offered prayers after recovering from injuries sustained during the Battle of Uhud.

The mosque, known as Al‑Fas’h Mosque and also referred to as the Mosque of Uhud, is located on the northern slope of Mount Uhud in Madinah.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the mosque is closely linked to the events that followed the Battle of Uhud. Historical accounts state that the Prophet (PBUH) offered prayers at this site after his wounds from the battle had partially healed.

More than fifteen centuries have passed since the event, and the mosque along with nearby sites has undergone various changes over time. The location remains preserved due to its historical and religious importance in Islamic history, with several surrounding landmarks also protected for their architectural and heritage value.

Pilgrims visiting Madinah often travel to the Uhud battlefield for ziyarat (religious visitation), where many also visit this mosque and offer prayers.
