CM Balochistan Says Health, Education Reforms Continue Under Bilawal Bhutto’s Vision

QUETTA: Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that consistent efforts are underway to improve education, healthcare, and basic facilities for the poor in Balochistan under the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Addressing a ceremony at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Quetta regarding the inauguration of completed health sector projects, the chief minister said the day marked not just the launch of development projects but a significant step toward transforming the lives of the people of Balochistan.

He said that in the past, people of the province could hardly imagine quality healthcare at their doorstep, but now modern facilities such as trauma centers, air ambulances, and the Benazir Ambulance Service have become a reality due to the vision and leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The chief minister said the provincial government is implementing revolutionary measures in the education and health sectors. He added that 99 previously closed schools have been made functional again, while more than 13,000 teachers have been recruited on merit.

Referring to post-flood rehabilitation efforts, he said reconstruction work is ongoing in affected areas, particularly in the Nasirabad division, where over 8,000 houses have already been completed.

He noted that although the rehabilitation project is being executed under the federal government, the provincial government is providing support. However, he expressed concern over delays, stating that the pace is not as fast as desired, and efforts will be made to accelerate implementation so affected families can be fully rehabilitated.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti also highlighted initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment, including providing property ownership rights to women in rural areas under the PPP leadership’s vision.

He said the People’s Bus Service has already been launched in Balochistan, including Quetta and Turbat, and the government plans to expand it to other major cities to ensure modern, safe, and affordable transportation.

The chief minister further stated that Balochistan’s political and administrative conditions differ from other provinces, but the opposition has played a constructive role in democratic traditions. He said the government has maintained a policy of cooperation with opposition parties on matters of public interest.

On the occasion, he announced that the newly developed trauma center in Quetta will be named after former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

He concluded by thanking Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for his continuous guidance and support, reaffirming that the provincial government will continue to pursue people-friendly policies in line with PPP’s vision.
